We are a non-profit organization which exists to create a cultural shift in the public perception of insects and propel entomological research and conservation forward by using the field of entomology as the foundation for environmental action. By developing collaboration across borders, and opening research to the public, we can accelerate entomological knowledge and open the door to safeguarding our planet’s most vital stewards.

This is not an "eco"-tour - Expedition Entomology is a STEM accredited project, and recipient of the Entomological Society of America's Science Communication Award and the 2025 Best in STEM Award. This is true exploration where luxury takes a back seat to raw discovery. Where participants join our research team in the field to create and execute important entomological biodiversity research and conservation projects.

Our expeditions are open to everyone, regardless of academic background, but they are only for the most adventurous travelers, so prepare to get your hands dirty!

At the core of the GEC’s objectives is the promotion of research that addresses critical issues related to insect & spider biodiversity, ecology, behavior, and physiology - not pest control. We aim to accelerate scientific discoveries and develop effective and innovative strategies for research.
"Like the resource it seeks to protect, wildlife conservation must be dynamic, changing as conditions change, seeking always to become more effective."
