Empowering Everyone to be Entomologists
You're in Charge of Our Research
Roughly 79% of our funding to date has come from individual donors and program participants. So we're leaving it up to you to decide which research initiatives we get started!

All supporters will be named in any future publication that results from our research.

Be Part of a Worldwide Mission
The Great Insect Quest is an insect biodiversity project for adventurers of all ages. From your backyard to mountain peaks, remote jungles to city parks, every outdoor space becomes part of your mission.

By participating, you’re not just taking photos, you're contributing to discoveries. New species are often being discovered via iNaturalist observations, and your snapshot could reveal something unknown to science. Whether you’re a seasoned naturalist or on your very first bug hunt, you’re invited to join the quest!
Join an Expedition!
Expedition Entomology is a STEM-accredited, multiple award-winning program designed to involve everyone in the scientific process while kickstarting new ecologically-focused entomology research projects.

It is a chance for anyone, regardless of academic background, to be a part of our research and conservation team documenting insect behaviors, ecological impacts, and discovering new species while hiking, swimming, climbing, digging, and camping in some of the most remote and biodiverse places on Earth. Participants not only gain field research skills and cultural experiences, but develop unforgettable bonds with the researchers and fellow participants.

GEC'S MISSION
Our mission is to inspire worldwide environmental stewardship by fostering a cultural shift in the perception of insects through research, education, and conservation.
By developing collaboration across borders, opening research to the public, and expanding our understanding of insects and their roles through exciting educational experiences, we can accelerate entomological knowledge and open the door to safeguarding our planet’s most important yet undervalued and misunderstood animals.

GEC is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and we have a strict no-compromise funding policy, which means we rely heavily on individual support. Help us make a difference!
