Membership

Join the Coalition!

Members sustain our work in conservation, research, and education. Since we have a strict no-compromise funding policy, which means don't take money from the top funders of entomology (pesticide manufacturers), our mission is only made possible by individual support.  And as you can imagine, gaining support for insects is difficult.

Consider becoming a sustaining member of the Global Entomology Coalition and be the driving force protecting global habitats via insects!

DONATE

There's no contribution too small.

Because we are funded mostly by individual contributions (almost 80% of our funds in 2025 came from generous individuals), every dollar counts.

Whether you make a regular monthly or annual gift, or want to contribute what you can, when you can.

As a volunteer-run organization with Platinum-level transparency via Candid (learn more here), you can trust that your donation will directly contribute to research, conservation, and education programs rather than lining the pockets of a wealthy CEO.

Activate A Research Project

You fund our research, so you get the choice.

Our research can only happen with public support. It exists because you understand how important the field of entomology is as a gateway to environmental understanding and conservation.

With your support, we can kickstart some ambitious research and conservation projects.

Everyone who contributes will be named on any publications which result from the projects.

Name a New Species

Create a Legacy Through the Power of Names

Have you ever wanted a species new to science to be named after you? Or maybe after a loved one, or even your favorite movie character?  This is your chance!

There are an estimated 9,000,000 species of insect to be discovered and named, and entomologists are finding them at a rate of about 6,000 per year, so we'll need some creative names... that's where you come in.

In 2025, on a budget less than the electric bill for most small businesses, we contributed to the discovery of at least 6 new species (2 new genera).  And with more support, we hope to name dozens, even hundreds, of new species over the next few years as part of our Initiative 100.
