Expedition Entomology is a STEM accredited project and the proud recipient of the Entomological Society of America's 2024 Science Communication Award and the 2025 Best in STEM award.
Expedition Entomology is a hands-on insect research program for adventure travelers, educators, students, and lifelong learners. Unlike passive ecotours, participants join a real field research team led by Explorers Club member and award-winning science communicator Jace Porter. Each expedition generates essential insect biodiversity data from remote ecosystems, supporting global conservation and long-term environmental research. You’ll collect specimens, document behavior, work with local partners, and gain cultural insight while living at remote field stations. Participants earn recognition on future scientific publications and help advance insect science, STEM education, and conservation worldwide.
